The Needles District - Canyonlands National Park

View west approximaely half mile from the trailhead on the way back.  This area is very isolated with virtualy no light pollution.   The Milky Way is clearly visible along with ten times the number of stars typically seen in any metropoltion area night sky.  This was an 11 mile hike round trip on a lot of rock with approximately 1000 feet of climb.  As good as it gets.
