south rim from the Grandview Trail just below Grandview Point. The
Grandview Trail does not go all the way to The Colorado River. This
trail leads down to Horseshoe Mesa and loops around the mesa to several
abandoned mines.

A serious hiker could connect to the East Tonto Trail on Horseshoe Mesa and tie into either the New Hance Trail east or the South Kaibab Trail west and reach The Colorado River. Either option is a multi-day backpack and probably brutal in any definition.
