This is the view into American Basin as you descend the very steep CR 30 Alpine Scenic Loop from Cinnamon Pass.   Handies Peak, "a Colorado fourteener" is visible on the left horizon.   This is a great wildflower destination from mid July to mid August.   There were wildflowers in late August through-out the area - but not at peak.
