Imogen Pass Panoramic

This is a view looking generally north over Imogene Basin on FR 869 from a large pull-out below Imogene Creek. Upper Camp Bird Mine is located near the talus pilings in the bottom of the basin.  The entrance to the mine appeared large enough to drive a truck through.  This is a rough rocky route lower on the mountain and very steep route higher on the mountain that requires 4WD low.  We made it to Imogene Creek but could not climb farther to the Pass without 4WD low.  The stretches of road climb are too long for momentum only - 4WD low an absolute must.
