Looking southeast toward a mile long escarpment of sandstone
and siltstone towers in North or Upper Cathedral Valley in Capitol
Reef National Park.

Another view southeast to this narrow tall escarpment in North
or Upper Cathedral Valley. North Cathedral Valley is
accessed by Cathedral Road. Cathedral Road is a gravel/dirt
road that could be negotiated with a standard car with good
clearance - better with a high clearance vehicle.

View southeast of the surrounding formations along Cathedral
Road with good late daylight on this reddish-brown sandstone.
The lower angle of the sunlight brings more orange into the rock.

View southwest from Cathedral Road to the formations the create
the south face of Upper or North Cathedral Valley. This
location is near the surprisingly rough switchbacks that climb to the
top of the escarpment beyond.

A view northeast into Upper Cathedral Valley from near the top
of the switchbacks that climb several hundred feet to a juniper and
pinion pine forested mesa top. The switchbacks would be a bit
rough for a standard auto.
