View north looking down the switchbacks that start at the trailhead of The South Kaibab Trail. I wore insteep crampons because the trail was either wet, icy or covered with snow throughout this area of steep switchbacks. They worked very well.

Another view about half-way down the switchbacks that start at the trailhead of The South Kaibab Trail. I waited about 45 minutes in this spot to see the mules climb this very steep trail. The mule train is visible approaching the beginning of the switchbacks.

View of the mule train climbing the switchbacks. The trail in this area is as steep as a trial could be constructed. The leader turned
his mule 90 degrees in the trail in order stop the pack train and rest the mules.

The mule train approaching my position. The leader stopped the mules at least four times while climbing this 500 foot plus or minus cliff face.

Continuing down trail to "Oh My God Point". "Oh My God Point" is about one and one half miles from the trialhead and will not take much more than two hours to complete up and back depending on how much time
you explore or take photos.

Another awesome view along the trail. This trail is used very heavily but is still quite a thrill to hike because of the dramatic views and drop-offs.

Continuing to "Oh My God Point". The South Kaibab Trail is one of the great trails in the United States.
