This view is generally northwest from north of the Loop Drive in White Sands National Monument in the Tularosa Valley of southern New Mexico.  White Sands National Monument is surrounded by the San Andres Mountains on the left side of the image and the Sacramento Mountains on right.  The snow capped mountain in the distance is Sierra Blanca Peak at 11,973 feet.
